FM Modulator December 20, 2009 MHM (Los Angeles, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The first unit that was sent was broken, so I had to pay post office $5.00 to ship and to get it exchanges, they wouldn't let me swing by and exchange it. The second one works, but the remote doesn't, so why should I spend another $5.00 to exchange it, and end up paying $10.00 more for an item that originally cost around $17.99, this is not right, so I will not buy anything else from this company. What other option is there? return it? spend more money and end up wasting the total cost on shipping back and forth and not have anything, just throwing away money.
Excellent product for on the go music experience. January 6, 2009 Parag Sohoni This is a very useful product, especially when you are fed up of listening to the same old CDs which you keep playing while driving. This product gives an option of listening to your fav numbers through the usb flash drive or through an ipod which can store a very large number of songs. A great companion for long drives..............
Don't Waste Your Money December 19, 2008 Jane Doe (Charlotte, NC) You can never get the product to keep a station on the radio long enough to allow your music to play. It is always fading in and out or lots of static. It was a waste of money. We don't ust it at all.
Limited number of fm frequencies, compared to other variants of same product December 14, 2008 C. Kafka (Tolland, CT USA) This was my third fm modulator from VR3. The other two work fine. This one is a big disappointment. It has a more limited number of fm frequencies available and none of those coincides with a "clear" on in my geographic area. So essentially unusable.
Acceptable, B+ October 22, 2008 Orrie (Pennsylvania) Pros:
Works with up to a 2 GB stick (biggest I've tried)
Good (just shy of "Great") signal strength (but you gotta pick the right frequency)
Shuffle Mode
Remembers last song, even if you remove the stick (though see below)
Stands up to heat and cold so you can leave it in your car
Ignores non-music files on stick, doesn't care if files are in a folder or not (despite manual's claim to the contrary)
Cons:
Will drain your battery if your outlet doesn't cut off when you turn your engine off (some cars do, some don't, check your manual)
Song memory restarts from beginning of song, slightly annoying
Shuffle does take up to 30 seconds to find next song if there are lots 200+) songs on the stick
High-quality files are a must; any noise at all gets amplified, which is probably the source of all the "static" complaints
Super-high volume not possible due to picking up low-level interference from car's alternator (low "hum" if you don't have a song playing)
No metadata or even filename display
All in all, it passes muster.
