| Customer Reviews: Great Durable Swing July 4, 2010 Krista I got this swing for my baby before she was born hoping she would like sit in a swing. I know I did when I was a baby. However, that swing was crank style in a hard seat stuck in an upright position. How that has changed! This is quite the swing.
First of all, she absolutely loves it. Often it's the only way she will finally fall asleep. Now that she is six weeks old, she has started to stay awake (and quiet!) and looking around. She likes the mobile even though it seems boring and doesn't really move all that much (apparently enough to make her interested). She really likes the classical music that plays. It's nice that the speaker faces her so I don't have to make it too loud..she can hear it and I can still watch tv or listen to my music. I've kept it in the reclined position, which she seems to like since she is so little (can't hold head up quite yet). She has dirtied the swing twice. It's not too difficult to take off the cover and wash it. I followed the directions and hung dry it. The pillow that comes for newborns to cradle their head is great. It really does the trick and makes the swing plush. The fabrics are really soft too.
Only negative is it's so hard to find those stupid toys that go into the tray. And the harness system is a bit much to put on her...seems like over kill and it's pretty difficult to snap when you've got a kid wiggling.
Also, I know there some worry about the swing running off of batteries. It's pretty hard to find a plug in swing. However, we put batteries in the swing when we got it and after heaving use over the past six weeks, we haven't replaced the batteries. I got some rechargeable batteries just in case, but I haven't had to use them yet.
Best purchase ever! February 20, 2010 W. Piscia 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I put my newborn in this swing he screamed so I thought he didn't like it. I then realized that I had the seat in the upright position and this wasn't comfortable for my little guy. After putting the seat in the reclined position I found that my little guy loved it. He has since taken every nap in his swing (he is now four months old). We use this swing daily and the music is really nice, not annoying like some swings. He loves to be on the highest setting, which is six. The only problem is that I have now created a baby who can't nap in his crib or without the swinging motion! That being said, he sleeps in his crib at night with no problem so I guess it has worked out fine. The swing has a five point seatbelt to keep him in nice and secure. This is just a nicely made swing! I would say that the only negative I have found about this swing is that the mobile arm tends to move back during the rocking motion so sometimes it ends up behind the swing but this usually happens long after he is asleep so it doesn't really matter to me.
Our baby loves it! February 1, 2009 Buckeyeluva (Texas) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Product works great! Only concern is the noise it makes while swinging. It is slightly loud although it does help our baby fall asleep so I am not complaining! Highly recommended!
BEST SWING OUT THERE! October 12, 2008 Shay 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is, by far, the best swing out there. My son is 6 months old. He grew out of his Graco Windsor swing, so I decided to buy this swing; considering, it holds up to 30 pounds. The harness is perfect because it doesn't allow him to lean forward, yet it is still comfortable. The shape of the swing is perfect because he is not able to grab onto the bars that are on the side of the swing (the bars are out of reach completely). The songs are awesome....I actually enjoy listening to the music on this swing as well....nice, soothing, classical songs. Everything about this swing is perfect.
