Customer Reviews: Best exfoliant ever April 10, 2010 Cowgirl (Virginia, USA) I have been using this product for at least 5 years. In the past 3 months I have gone without using this and my face is suffering. My bumps and blackheads have returned to my face. I finally bought it and can't believe the effects it has made in just 2-3 days. My skin is much smoother and brighter! I will never go without this stuff again!!
This stuff is really great. February 19, 2010 lynninny (Rochester, NY) Honestly, this is the best product I have ever used on my skin. I read an article in In Style a while back-- Liv Tyler was talking about products she used and she said that someone used this on her and it made her pores disappear. I think she has lovely skin, so I tried a sample size. Wow. I have dry, sensitive, 40-something fair skin. This made it smooth, brighter, and did shrink my pores. I use it in the shower--just shake some into my palm, add a little water, scrub my face with my hands, leave it a few seconds, then rinse. It is gentle and easy.
Every once in a while in the winter I have to stop using it every day--upstate New York, my skin gets too chapped outside to use anything on it. But in the other three seasons, I use it every single day and it makes a huge difference. I never do this, but I like it so much I bought it for my sister.

I understand the basic premiss. I have used a very similar product by shiseido, that I feel was strongly based on the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.
Here's the skinny: (and I am dead serous this works fabulously) I use white rice flour or sweet rice flour for extra sensitive skin. It can be used to cleans and or leave on (like a mask) for 15-20-mins and wiped off w/ a damp cloth.
you can recycle and clean any large shaker for cheese or spices to dispense from the bulk amount of rice flour.
compair white rice flour at $2.00 a LBs to $36.00 plus S/H for 2.60z
A chemist once told me when I was 13-yrs old and in love w/ Noxzema, that the best skin care products, are things you can eat. Because our skin eats what we put on it. How cam it really digest all the chemicals and waxes, etc????
Another cool idea: roes water, cucumber juice or aloe vera juice put into travel size spray bottles, make great skin toners. (just remember to always keep them refrigerated and check their freshness, before each use.
I hope some ppl think this is useful - : )
