I saw Karen for the first time at a Women of Joy conference in Louisville KY 2009. I love to read and had heard of her but hadnt bought any of her books. After the conference and the reaction that she got from everyone (including guys) in the room, I had to start her books. I started with the first Baxter series because everyone told me to! I just finished this book and WOW...I just love her books. I sobbed so hard at the end of this book that my husband thought something was wrong. It only matched when Elizabeth died. Her books are a true blessing with so much to take from them. Thanks Karen for being a blessing and sharing it with others.

This book is very touching. It shows the power of God in the lives of His people. I am very impressed with the depthness of this author. After I complete these series, I plan to try some of her other series. I'm sure that I won't be disappointed with them.

As a reader of several of Ms. Kingsbury's books and a huge fan of the Redemption series, I have to admit that the Fame books left me more than a little disappointed. By the start of the Sunrise series I had begun to wonder if the writer would ever return to her former "glory". But, thank God, with this book she has done it. With Summer she has managed keep the reader riveted without resorting to overly fantastical plot twists, and has brought us a touching, sometimes heartrending and ultimately heartwarming story of struggle, loss, acceptance and God's unchanging love in the midst of it all. Once again I feel as though I want to journey with the Baxter family as they navigate the road of life. Well done Karen Kingsbury! I look forward to reading the next installment...
