Don't buy if you use Windows 7 July 13, 2010 K. Wyatt (Oregon) There are no drivers or software for windows 7. When you install the D-Link BT software you are directed to a Toshiba laptop web site by MS helper program. There is no support to be implemented by D-Link for Windows 7 use.
Great little USB device, works like a charm! July 7, 2010 Yogini This was so easy to install - within seconds I was up and running with my wireless keyboard and mouse! All of the computers in our office were bluetooth ready, except for mine ;( , so i had to find an alternative solution so that I could use the fancy keyboard and mouse that came with my new office. Fortunately, I found this d-link adapter and trusted the reviews I read online! I haven't had any problems with connectivity/loss of signal - you would think that my computer had a factory bluetooth chip!
No Driver For Win 7 June 13, 2010 Jeremy Kellum (Texas) After already having a bad history with D-Link i decided to give them one more go. I purchased this product and installing the drivers, a window tell me that this software is incompatible with Windows 7. No worries, thinking that the drivers on the disk were outdated i went to d-links website to find out that they have no drivers for win 7, Windows 7 has been out for a little over a year now and they still have no drivers? They have truly proven to me how worthless their consumer products are. they have no support for anything unless your a corporate business dumping thousands into d-link.
DID NOT WORK June 8, 2010 jk1980 (Los Angeles, CA) Item worked for only intermittently, signal would go in and out, finally just stopped working. Horrible item
Works wonderfully under linux, Ubuntu 10.04; no setup or installation required. June 3, 2010 Yojimbosteel (Austin, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very careful when looking for Linux-friendly hardware. In my experience anything can be "made" to work under Linux but it is one of those small joys in life when a device works beyond your expectations, no headache necessary. As with anything else in Linux your experience is heavily based on the kernel/computer hardware/distribution/version you are using, so for reference I am running the netbook remix of Ubuntu 10.04 on a Toshiba nb305. This device worked right out of the box, I just plugged it in and the Bluetooth utility on Ubuntu automatically loaded and was ready for use, in fact, I am writing this review with a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, and number pad attached. Although I can't speak for any other distribution of Linux but Ubuntu, the fact that this device works well on any version does mean that good drivers are available to all distributions (you may have to install them yourself). Finally, I would like to say that in my research previous to this purchase I came across a device cited as a D-link DBT-122 that was Linux-friendly. As near as I can tell this device does not exist and the DBT-120 was probably what was meant.
